  • New to the Troop

    Being a part of a new boy scout troop can be exciting as well as a little overwhelming for both the new scout and parents.  We have compiled some helpful hints, documents and additional information which will help the transition.

    Please see out FAQ section, which may assist you in answering additional questions

    • Scout

      • Meetings begin promptly at 7:15 at WTR cafeteria.
      • Please be on time, appropriately dressed in Class A uniform and bring your scout book
      • The use of electronics is not allowed during meeting.
      • Please wait for your parent/ride to come inside the building upon the conclusion of the meeting.
      • Remember to bring your weekly dues ($1.00) each week.
      • Please be respectful. No talking during instruction and wrap-up.
    • Parents

      • Meeting begins at 7:15.  You may choose to stay or leave your scout.
      • Announcements are made at the end of the meeting, you may wish to arrive a few minutes early to hear them.
      • Please reenter the building to pick up your scout.  This is for the safey of the scout and others.
      • Be involved.  The troop can only be as successful as the volunteerism of the parents.
      • The meeting schedule follows the school calendar.  Meeting will not be held on days when there is no school, early dismissals and snow days.
      • Uniform accessories can be purchased at the Camp-Site Store in Huntington or The Scout Shop in Medford, https://www.sccbsa.org/Scout-Shop
      • New Scouts will receive a neckerchief, Scout Book and Class B T-shirt as part of their membership
